Project Overview
Metro Rail Transit Line 7 (MRT-7) is a 30.3 km, 7-station extension of the under-construction MRT-7 mainline, providing rail-based first- and last-mile access to the New Manila International Airport (NMIA) in Bulacan.
The Proponent
San Miguel Holdings Corp. (SMC), through its affiliates, holds original proponent status under the NMIA concession. SMC MRT-7 Corp. holds a 25-year concession for the anchor MRT-7 mainline, with Korea Railroad Corp. providing operations and maintenance (O&M) support.
Highlights
The line links two major anchor assets: MRT-7 (89% complete, with partial service targeted for Q2 2027) and the US$ 15 billion NMIA aerotropolis. The Department of Transportation (DOTr) considers this a priority project and has identified rail access as the preferred alternative to expressway-only connectivity.
The Opportunity
SMC is seeking partners to complete a feasibility study for the North Line Project. The project is in early stages with cost estimates ranging from ₱ 15.4 to 130.9 billion depending on the final design.
