Project Overview
New Manila International Airport (NMIA) is a 2,500 ha greenfield airport in Bulacan. Land development is ~80% complete, with vertical construction of a 5-wing, 240-gate terminal and the first two of four runways underway.
The Proponent
San Miguel Aerocity Inc. (SMAI) holds the 50-year Build-Operate-Transfer (BOT) concession as sole sponsor. Design is led by Groupe ADPi, Meinhardt, and Jacobs Engineering, with financing through a Standard Chartered/Sumitomo Mitsui Banking Corporation (SMBC)-led syndicate.
Highlights
Key procurement items, such as boarding bridges, baggage handling, structural steel, and heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC), are entering specification ahead of the general contractor tender. The proponent has procurement experience with international original equipment manufacturers (OEMs), Dutch contractor Boskalis for land development, and suppliers of fabricated components.
The Opportunity
SMAI is seeking supply partners to support terminal construction, which recently began following ~80% completion of shoreline piling. The first runway is on track for 2028, with full operations targeted November 2028.
