Project Overview
Through the Department of Information and Communications Technology (DICT), the Philippine Government is seeking to develop a National Data Center to consolidate fragmented government Information and Communications Technology (ICT) infrastructure into one secure, resilient, and cloud-enabled platform. The primary data center is expected to have a capacity of up to 1,000 racks.
The Proponent
DICT is the lead implementing agency, with the project receiving support from Korea Overseas Infrastructure & Urban Development Corporation (KIND) and Korea Information Systems Consulting & Audit Co. Ltd (KISCA).
Highlights
The primary data center is to be in Valenzuela, Metro Manila, which has accessibility to multiple government agencies. A secondary Disaster Recovery site will be in the Subic Bay Freeport Zone. Overall, the project is expected to migrate about 2,000 government applications across more than 99 agencies.
The Opportunity
The project is currently at the master planning and pre-feasibility stage, with the proposed implementation road map covering a 7-year program comprising i) planning and consulting, ii) design and construction, iii) cloud platform deployment, and iv) migration of government systems. Implementation under a Public-Private Partnership (PPP) structure remains illustrative and subject to government approvals.
